WordPress 2.8 Just Released

If you haven’t already heard there has been a lot of buzz around about the upcoming release of WordPress 2.8 which has some major new improvements. Rather than listing each of the improvements I thought it would be best to refer you to the official announcement of the release and provide you with the short video below.

Currently web hosting clients of AvekHost.com can enjoy a quick and easy upgrade option as WordPress 2.8 is already configured for instant installation and upgrading. All you need to do is log in to your WP Admin panel and click the link that says upgrade to WordPress 2.8 and within a few seconds you’ll be upgraded to version 2.8. While I didn’t encounter any difficulties in upgrading you may want to ensure that you back up your blog prior to the upgrade just as a safety precaution. You can refer to our past article titled “How To Back Up Your Wordpress Blog: Part 1 of 2” and “How To Back Up Your Wordpress Blog: Part 2 of 2” for instructions on how to back up and restore your blog if necessary.
