WordPress 2.8.2 is available!
WordPress 2.8.2 fixes an XSS vulnerability. Comment author URLs were not fully sanitized when displayed in the admin. This could be exploited to redirect you away from the admin to another site. Download 2.8.2 or automatically upgrade from the Tools->Upgrade page of your blog’s admin.

WordPress 2.8 Just Released
If you haven’t already heard there has been a lot of buzz around about the upcoming release of WordPress 2.8 which has some major new improvements. Rather than listing each of the improvements I thought it would be best to refer you to the official announcement of the release and provide you with the short video below.

My Favorite Wordpress Plug-Ins
Wordpress Plugins are a great way to add functionality to your Wordpress Blog. Some plugins are just plain fun and some plugins fulfill a particular need. Listed below are my personal favorite plugins that I think you will enjoy if you’re not already using them. After your done reviewing my favorite plugins take a quick second to provide a comment on your favorite plugins.
- Subscribe2 - provides a comprehensive subscription management and email notification system for WordPress blogs that sends email notifications to a list of subscribers when you publish new content to your blog. You can choose to send an email after each post, twice daily, just daily, or perhaps just weekly. You can even add your subscribe box to your blog posts like I did below.
- All In One SEO Pack – provides the ability to manually change the meta tag settings (title, description, keywords) for each blog page and post. A must have for those who are serious about getting there blog listed in search engines.
- Google XML Site Map – plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.
- Wordpress.com Stats – focuses on just the most popular metrics a blogger wants to track and provides them in a clear and concise interface. See the most popular articles, search engine key words, etc.
- Twitter updater w/Tiny Url – provides the ability to automatically update your twitter status with the latest post that you’ve made.
